Smaller Organisations
Whilst the majority of Transforming Potential's work is with SMEs who have turnover between £1 million and £10 million, we regularly advise on and improve the performance of the much smaller businesses who are struggling to get off the ground and which are often still at the one man or woman stage.
Artifex Creations
Artifex Creations makes everything from jewellery to uniquely designed garden, household and office decorations using fused and stained glass techniques.
The massively talented Marianda Twydell (sole proprietor of Artifex) didn't know how to get her products publicised working on a very meagre budget. Some judicious letters sent to existing customers and well placed local PR started to drive her business volumes quite significantly.
A wonderfully sculpted but simple and effective glass memento sent to Lord Sebastian Coe as a thank you for his efforts in winning the London Olympics resulted in a marvellous and personal letter from Lord Seb thanking Marianda for the work which was to have "pride of place" on his desk until 2012.
Artifex Creations hasn't looked back since.
@the Osteopath
@the Osteopath is the dream of Sorrel Pindar to build her own practice - slowly at first whilst the children are still young but with a solid foundation for when they become more independent and she can spend more time with patients.
A regular Newsletter and some firm approaches to local employers have led to her filling the diary to suit that lifestyle and includes a regular clinic on site at one of Bedford's largest rented office facilities.
A recent move to larger premises means she can expand at whatever pace she wants.
The Cock At Pavenham
The Cock At Pavenham might at first sight appear to be just a standard little English village pub. But take a trip out into the beautiful North Bedfordshire countryside and you discover somewhere which is the stepping off point into the undiscovered jewel of the North Ouse Valley.
Not only do Mike and Jane serve a fine range of cask beers (as well as the full range of drinks you might expect from any pub) but the menu is a delightful step up from your usual "pub grub" without costing the arm and a leg demanded by the "haute cuisine" providers.
A simple but effective website(with content management capability to update the menu) along with a straightforward approach to marketing for new customers as well as to generate repeat and referral business means that word is now spreading - and the profitable food business is on the up.
This time next year... (who knows?)
