Open the Envelope...Please
27th Oct 2005I'm terribly sorry if you've recently invested in an expensive franking and/or labelling machine but... wherever possible hand write envelopes addressed to customers and always use a stamp (1st Class every time - the only exception is if there is a commemorative issue out so it's difficult to spot the difference between 1st and 2nd class!).
Even with a larger mailout, spend the time (or money on a temp) - customer response can be more than doubled this way.
So often we create wonderful marketing messages and then put little effort into making sure they are read.
When you want to deliver a powerful and important message, do everything possible to make sure that your target audience at least opens the envelope.
